Are my files uploaded to FileMoat?
No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your device, processed in memory and saved back to your device. Nothing is sent to our server — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
What exactly is removed?
Everything except the pixels: GPS coordinates, date and time, camera model, software, text comments and any embedded thumbnails. Each cleaned file is re-scanned before download to confirm nothing is left.
Does cleaning reduce quality?
PNG stays lossless. JPG and WebP photos are re-saved at 95% quality, which is visually indistinguishable from the original.
