Good to know
Are my files uploaded to FileMoat?
No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your device, processed in memory and saved back to your device. Nothing is sent to our server — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
What if my file has more than 1,048,576 rows?
Excel can't hold more rows than that on one sheet, so we automatically continue on Sheet 2, Sheet 3 and so on. The conversion streams through the file, so CSVs up to 500 MB work — we tested 9.2 million rows (307 MB), converted into 9 sheets in about a minute and a half. For bigger files, use Split CSV first.
Will my numbers be real numbers in Excel?
Yes — values like 1250 or 12.5 (or 12,5 in semicolon-separated files) become numbers you can sum. Codes with leading zeros, such as zip codes or IDs, and very long numbers like account numbers are kept as text so nothing is lost.
