Good to know
Are my files uploaded to FileMoat?
No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your device, processed in memory and saved back to your device. Nothing is sent to our server — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
How large can the file be?
The file is read in a stream, so multi-gigabyte CSVs can be split. In Chrome and Edge you can save the parts straight into a folder, with no size limit beyond your disk. Other browsers bundle the parts in a ZIP, which works up to about 1.5 GB of output.
Will accented characters survive?
Yes. We detect the file's encoding (UTF-8, UTF-16 or Windows-1252) and write every part as UTF-8, marked so that Excel opens it correctly.
