Are my files uploaded to FileMoat?
No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your files are read from your device, processed in memory and saved back to your device. Nothing is sent to our server — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
Can you unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?
No. FileMoat does not guess or crack passwords. You need the password that opens the file; the tool then saves a copy without it.
Is it legal to remove a PDF password?
Removing the password from your own documents, or ones you are authorised to use, is normal. Don't use it to get around restrictions on documents you aren't allowed to change or share.
